How to manage stress

Have you heard the phrase “ don’t sweat the small stuff”. Although the person who coined this phrase meant well, but strangely, following this “simple” counsel isn’t so straightforward. Still, for your mental, emotional, and physical health, learning how to let the “small things” go is beneficial. The “small things” are, of course, subjective. First step is to identify them, Once you’ve discovered your minor stresses, use these 3 strategies to avoid allowing them to impact you.

  • control what you can. Truth is we don’t have control on most areas of our life, like we cannot change someone else’s behavior, stress at work or other events but you can control how you react to these stressful situations.  identify what you have control over, and focus your energy on that, you’ll be much more productive.
  • Practice relaxation. it could be any activity that brings physical and mental calm to your body. It could be meditation, yoga, journaling your thoughts, a brisk walk out in the nature, or maybe a home workout.
  • Practice gratitude. When you are feeling stressed take time to count your blessings including your own great characteristics. This straightforward method can assist you in keeping things in perspective.

By slowly taking control over your behavior towards stress you can see positive impact on your overall health.Identify when your stress levels are out of control, or if they are causing you to experience anxiety or despair, you should get professional help.
