Follow the 6 steps if you get tested positive for COVID:
1- Isolate – Regardless of your vaccination status or symptoms, if you are tested positive, isolate for 5 days according to new guideline.
2- Notify- Call and let your close contacts from last 48 hours know about your positive covid status, in order to slow the spread.
3- Monitor- closely monitor your symptoms. common COVID symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath, muscle, joint pain, fatigue, loss of taste and smell, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
4- Treat- You can use over the counter medications to treat your symptoms like acetaminophen. Also home remedies for cough and cold can be soothing. Taking vitamin C, D can help boost your immune system to fight the infection. and of course rest and hydration as much as you can.
5- Contact your doctor if symptoms worsening or for any additional guidance. Seek emergent medical help if shortness of breath getting worst, chest pain, new confusion, inability to stay awake, blue discoloration of nail beds or pale skin, or fever not improving with etc meds.
6- End isolation if fever free for more than 24 hours without fever reducing meds and symptoms improving at the end of 5 days. continue to wear proper fitting mask around others even in home for next 5 days . If symptoms still persistent you may want to extend you isolation to 10 days.
Stay safe everyone, keep masking in public, maintain your 6 feet distance, frequent hand washing to slow the spread!
